The Tiled Hall Café is one of my favourite spots in Leeds. Located within Leeds Art Gallery and right next to the Henry Moore Institute, the café is an unexpected little gem.
Whilst the food and drink are good, it’s the surroundings you really come for – it’s an original piece of Victorian architecture with magnificent multicoloured tiles. Originally a reading room for the next-door public library, the space fell into disuse until restored to its former glory in 2007.
The food is typical café fare; soups, salads, sandwiches, some hot meals, all locally sourced. The array of cakes are very tempting and absolutely delicious! There café also serves hot and cold drinks and some alcohol.
Opening hours are Mon-Wed 09:00-20:00, Thu-Fri 09:00-17:00, Sat 10:00-17:00 and Sun 13:00-17:00.
